Zara's New Collection Is Like Something Out of a Fashion Fairytale
[photo1]Photo: There's rarely a Tuesday or Thursday that I don't check Zara's app and feel a twinge of excitement to scroll through that day's new arrivals. That said, I only allow myself to bask in true Zara-induced giddiness on two occasions per year: When the autumn/winter Studio collection is revealed and six months later when its spring/summer companion debuts. And as luck would have it, today is one of those days. This morning, Zara launched its S/S 23 collection and subsequent fairytale-esque campaign, which was shot by renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel and styled by Karl Templer. The collection, according to a press release, was based on the premise that rules--at least when it comes to fashion--are meant to be broken and there is beauty in contradictions. To bring this to life, the design team took inspiration from a handful of otherwise contrasting style aesthetics from different fashion locales. "It's a mix of Parisian sensuality, a bit of London rebellion, some Scandinavian earthiness, mixed with the simplicity of dressing for a New York summer," the release explains.See how Zara's designer brought this vision to life by shopping its brand-new S/S 23 Studio collection below. [photo2] Photo: You absolutely cannot go wrong with a suit, especially one as vintage inspired and unique as this one. [photo3] The built-in vest is what convinced me. [photo4] I'm intrigued. [photo5] Photo: The song "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" by Cake comes to mind, and I'm not mad about it one bit. [photo6] This is the trench coat of my dreams. But actually, how did Zara know? [photo7] An easy, flowy top that'll go with literally everything. [photo8] Short shorts are fun and all, but sometimes, they're simply not practical. These, however, will always look good and impress whomever you're with. [photo9] Photo: Dreamy knits are all I personally want to wear right now as we transition from winter to spring. [photo10] That sleeve detail is pulling at my heartstrings. [photo11] Pair this dress with knee-high boots to edge it up. [photo12] Love. [photo13] Photo: If you haven't filled your closet with waistcoats and vests already, now's your chance. [photo14] This one's especially cool because of how low the front is. Just think of all the layering possibilities. [photo15] Photo: Nothing says fairytale like a sheer, tiered sundress with tiny, intricate details. [photo16] Don't let this dress slip away. [photo17] Photo: I love the idea of styling a long shirtdress with pants for an oversize, unexpected look. [photo18] The collar details on this tunic are extremely British.

[photo20] I want to see Keira Knightley in this dress in one of Joe Wright's period pieces ASAP. [photo21] The perfect topper for any outfit. [photo22] I'm very into the idea of simply styling this blouse with vintage Levi's and sandals. [photo23] This color is absolutely gorgeous. [photo24] For the Wednesday Addams in all of us.
